Creatine and Kidneys

Despite raising markers used when testing kidney health, creatine supplementation does not appear to damage kindey function.

Creatinine is commonly measured in bloodwork as a kidney-function marker. Because creatine can naturally convert into creatinine, creatine supplementation can sometimes increase creatinine levels.

That does not automatically mean kidney damage is occurring. Current research has found that creatine supplementation does not appear to impair kidney function in healthy people when used at recommended doses.
