Our Story
Patrick Andrews and Peter Loutzenhiser founded DRINK 586 after discovering the inconveniences of creatine supplementation firsthand. When looking for a more convenient solution, such as a beverage containing creatine, they were dumbfounded on why one didn’t exist. Questioning why such a simple idea hadn’t been executed, they looked into the properties of creatine. After reading through research papers, they discovered that creatine quickly degrades in a diluted state, preventing a shelf stable product from being developed. Determined to find a solution, they got the idea to store the creatine in a dispensing cap system that prevented it from degrading. One year later, that idea became a product and brand named DRINK 586.

Patrick Andrews
Currently a sophomore at Fordham University in New York City, Patrick is transitioning from studying biology to pursuing a degree in marketing and economics. Originally from Daphne, Alabama, Patrick participated actively in sports. From soccer and basketball to track & field and cross-country. While Patrick no longer competes on a team, he still maintains a disciplined fitness routine, running 30-40 miles a week and lifting 4-5 times a week. His passion for health, fitness, and performance has been a guiding force that led to his interest in nutrition and its role in maximizing athletic performance. This fascination led him to adopt a more scientific approach to nutrition and training, which resulted in a desire to work in the field. When given the opportunity to create a product and company that lies in the bullseye of his interests, he knew he couldn’t pass it up. Driven by his personal experiences and a desire to support others in achieving their fitness goals, Patrick co-founded DRINK 586 to help a wide range of individuals improve their quality of life.
Peter Loutzenhiser
Peter, a sophomore at Fordham University and a native of Cambridge, Massachusetts, is a walk-on player for the school's basketball team. An avid athlete, he enjoys staying active through activities like biking, golf, and weightlifting. Growing up, Peter played many sports, including basketball, soccer, and baseball, which laid the foundation for his interest in fitness. His goal to build lean muscle introduced him to creatine, a supplement that quickly became integral to his routine. Peter trains rigorously for basketball, constantly seeking ways to optimize his health and performance. During his freshman year, he discovered a passion for entrepreneurship, which, combined with his fitness journey, led him to co-found DRINK 586. His mission is to empower others to achieve their health and fitness goals through enhanced performance and wellness solutions.
The Name "DRINK586"
The name "DRINK 586" is derived from the compound identification number (CID) for creatine monohydrate, the primary ingredient in our performance-focused beverage.
"DRINK 586" is a scientific reference to the CID number for creatine. The name can be interpreted as a direct command: "Drink 586," essentially encouraging consumers to "drink creatine." This simple yet forceful directive plays on the idea of creatine as an essential, no-nonsense supplement for those serious about performance.
